Learning In Dialogue

As a result of that post, or perhaps a tweet, I ended up having a back-and-forth online exchange with @sleslie about the neologism (and emergent organizing principle, IMO) of wirearchy.
Scott ended up actually reading "What Is Wirearchy" and said to me there's not much he'd disagree with in it, but that he's still not into neologisms because those who coin them often / usually try to cram too much into them or run too long with them. I think that's a good point, and will probably apply to me in some ways. On the other hand, I HAVE been thinking about organizations as social systems for about 35 years now and in many ways have made much of the theory and practices that address those systems in the modern world my career. The neologism has come with considerable effort and with much loss of income related to veering off the conventional career path.
There is a delicious section of a book titled "McLuhan for Managers - New Tools for New Thinking" that addresses the issue of management buzzwords in a deep and intelligent way. Please believe that I keep that section of the book in mind when writing about wirearchy and its action and effects as an organizing principle.
So .. the dialogue with @sleslie was interesting, useful and friendly. Reflecting further on learning in dialogue, here's the result of what is for me a remarkable "knowledge friendship" .. my six-year conversation with Harold Jarche, who continues to impress me with his incisive and broad-ranging insights and his unerring instinct for the practical in the midst of complexity.
