More About Jon Husband
Most of my adult working life has been spent as a consultant, and I worked for a long time with one of the leading global HR and Organizational Effectiveness consulting companies, advising multinational client organizations first in North America and then in the UK and western Europe.
I help clarify how the new set of conditions the Web has created is changing our lives and how we think and work. My main focus is on how interactivity and collaboration is informing and changing work and organizational design and group processes, and notably how today's digital interconnected environment is having impact on leadership, management and the process of making decisions.
During the past two decades, I have helped people and organizations equip themselves for emerging futures using tools and techniques like competency analysis, strategic planning, scenario planning, Open Space, Appreciative Enquiry, coaching, and anthropological observation. I have worked with managers and leaders in North America, Europe and Central Asia using these tools and approaches to addresss strategic issues, leadership development and organizational change.
I have authored various white papers on knowledge management, new organizational models and ways of organizing peoples' activities, and most recently co-authored the book "Making Knowledge Work - the arrival of Web 2.0"
I speak on a regular basis about the interactivity, new media and the emerging future of work.
I believe that the traditional dynamics of hierarchy are changing in important ways, and I continue to explore the emerging characteristics of wirearchy: a dynamic two-way flow of power and authority, based on knowledge, trust and credibility, enabled by interconnected people and technology.

I can help organizations make decisions about the whys, whens, hows and what-to-do's of using social media
Speaker - I have spoken about the future of work, wirearchy and interactivity at various North American and international conferences and summits. I focus on the workplace of the future, leadership in a wired world, participatory democracy, and ways to think and act strategically in an environment of constant interaction.
Management Workshops - What does managing effectively mean, in an interconnected hyperlinked workplace ? What does management mean when access to information is ubiquitous, when boundaries are transparent and there are continuous flows of information and knowledge ? I help management teams think through these issues and develop practical approaches to coping with this enormous challenge.
